Our week in Oakmere - 28.02.2020

Date: 28th Feb 2020 @ 4:50pm

Welcome back - we hope you all had an enjoyable break despite the miserable weather!

It was so lovely to see so many of you at parent's evenings this week. We hope you enjoyed looking at your children’s books and hearing about the progress they are making.

This week we have spent time looking at poetry inspired by the Dinka tribe from Africa. The children then used the structure of one of these poems to help them write their own poems about a whale. They all worked incredibly hard and had some fantastic ideas. Today, they were all brave enough to share and perform their poems to the rest of the class. It was a real joy listening to them all.

In maths we have been working on perimeter and finding out how to calculate the perimeter of a shape even when all the measurements aren’t listed.

In PE we are working alongside Sale Sharks and enjoying learning the skills of tag rugby.

Our topic work this week was all about what Ancient Egyptian life may have been like. We used pictures to help us find clues and work out what jobs they might have had.

Have a great weekend- stay warm and dry.
