Our week in Oakmere 06.12.20

Date: 6th Dec 2020 @ 5:13pm

Can you believe it’s December already? This week we started our Christmas preparations in Oakmere. We have been learning some new signs related to Christmas – so far, we know Christmas, chocolate, Christmas tree and decorations. Perhaps the children can show and teach you these signs. In fact, that would fit nicely with our kindness advent calendar where our task one day this week was to teach someone a new skill. Over the weekend the children were asked to share their toys and help around the house. We’ll be looking forward to hearing what they did to fulfil these tasks! We hope you enjoyed our class offering to the OSJ virtual advent calendar – look out for more to come.

As you probably saw from Mrs Riley’s blog earlier in the week the children also made their own rainforest homes this week.

In English we completed our unit on The Minpins by writing our own adventure stories. What great imaginations the children have. It was a pleasure to read them.

Our maths work this week was based on statistics and data handling. We looked at pictograms and bar charts and began interpreting the data and drawing some of our own charts.

We hope you’ve all had a good weekend.
