Our week in Oakmere 08.11.19

It was lovely to welcome everyone back after the half term break. This week it was straight back into things with letter writing in English. This is our final task linked to our current text Seal Surfer. Next week we will be moving on to a fantasy story.

In maths this we have been working on solving addition and subtraction problems using the expanded and column methods. We were really impressed with how well the children set out their work and were able to solve the problems set.

We also spent some time completing research on the artist Thomas Gainsborough and creating a fact file about him. 

On Friday we discussed the importance Remembrance Day. We then went on to create our own fields of poppies using pastels - they were amazing, the children really showed their creative skills with this activity.

We are looking forward to more exciting activities next week.
