Our week in Oakmere 11.10.19

This week we have continued to embed our knowledge of place value in maths and have focussed on adding and subtracting 1s, 10s, 100s and 100s from 2 and 3 digit numbers. At times this got a bit tricky!

We also had a go at writing our own narratives in English to go alongside one of the images from our current book – Seal Surfer. Towards the end of the week the children took on the roles of the two main characters and acted out a telephone conversation before writing it up using the correct speech punctuation.

In our topic work we have started to look at the history of our town and how it has developed over time. Next week we will be going on a walk around town to try and spot some of the older and more modern developments. You should all have had a letter about this “trip” please could you ensure that you sign to give your child permission to come along and return to the office as soon as possible.
