Our week in Oakmere 13.09.19

Date: 13th Sep 2019 @ 4:08pm

It's been a busy full week in class this week.

We started work on our English text - Seal Surfer. This week the children have been learning all about prepositions and trying to incorporate them into their writing. They also really enjoyed researching seals and watching a new seal pup take it's first dive into the icy waters.

In maths we have been using lots of practical resources to show place value. The children have been representing numbers in variety of ways both through pictoral and written forms.

PE lessons have now started and this half term we are concentrating on gymnastics and games.

Topic sessions have included both history and geography aspects this week. In history the children have written their own definition of chronology and have started to think about how we can look for clues to tell us the order things happened in. Geography work has been centred around compass points and directions.

Thank you to those of you who have already sent photographs in for the children's timeline. If you do have any photographs of your children at different ages that you don't mind them sticking into their books please could you send them in before Friday.

Good luck to all pupils who are taking part in the "Go Fun Run" on Wednesday.

See you all next wekk.
