Our week in Oakmere 18.10.19

Date: 18th Oct 2019 @ 3:29pm

We were very lucky with the weather this week and so were able to go on our history / geography walk on Wednesday. The children had a great time looking at the buildings –comparing old to new, hearing stories of old coins that were found on Nixon Drive that date back to 1643 and looking at memorial stones in St John’s graveyard.

In maths they have been using practical resources to help them add 2 and 3 digit numbers. Year 4 also moved on to look at expanded column addition.

Although we will still be referring back to Seal Surfer in our English work we have now completed reading the story and today children reviewed the book and discussed what they liked or didn’t like about it.

It was lovely to meet so many of you at parents evening this week. If you ever want to discuss anything further please do not hesitate to pop in- our door is always open.
