Our week in Oakmere 21.11.20

This week we’ve continued working on addition and subtraction. The children worked hard to answer word problems and have really improved their layout and presentation. Year 3 moved on to formal / compact addition.

In English we began looking at report writing and what makes a good report. This has hopefully helped to prepare us to write our own report on the Minpins.

Our topic work centred around Mayan society and we looked at all the different levels and discussed who we thought had the best life – most of the children voted for the king.

It was anti-bullying week and we started the week wearing odd socks and ended it by thinking about what we could do to prevent bullying and how we should be kind instead.

Despite the weather we managed both football and cricket sessions too. It’s great to see how much the children are improving in both sports.
