Our week in Oakmere 28.11.20

This week Oakmere have spent time writing their own reports about the Minpins. We were really pleased with the outcome. Not only did they organise their writing in paragraphs with subheadings, but they then successfully edited their work and spent some time focussing on how to improve their presentation and handwriting. The results were amazing and we are now hoping they continue with this!

Presentation has also been the theme in maths this week. We have been learning how to carry and exchange when adding and subtracting in columns. Again, we were extremely impressed with how hard the children worked and how lovely their works look. The year 4 children have been investigating different ways to estimate answers,

Maths continued to run through into our topic session where we looked at the Mayan writing and number system and tried to solve some maths problems written in Mayan.
