Our week September 18th

Date: 23rd Sep 2017 @ 9:00pm

It’s been another busy week in Linmere this week.

In English we continued with our poetry work and carried out some research on whales before writing our poems about these magnificent creatures. The ideas that the children came up with were amazing and they all remembered how to perform their poems to an audience. This week their poems were delivered with more confidence, actions, expression and volume.

Our maths lessons focussed on learning how to round numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000 as well as reinforcing our 6, 7 and 9 times tables. We learnt a great trick for our 9 times tables – ask the children to show you!

Our Earth Matters topic began by studying British landmarks and locating them on a map. We also began looking at coasts, how they are formed and the different types of coasts found in this country.

Our week ended with some special visitors to our Friday assembly. Bishop Hamlet and his wife came all the way from Uganda in Africa to tell us about the schools they have built there and the work they are doing to enable more children living in Uganda get the opportunity to attend school.

Have a lovely weekend.
