Our week September 25th - Linmere

Date: 29th Sep 2017 @ 10:08pm

Mrs Riley was very pleased with the approach children in Linmere took when we tackled some challenging problem solving in Maths earlier this week. There was lots of impressive thinking involved, good use of different strategies and a super 'can do' attitude from everyone - well done! Later on in the week the children encountered negative numbers and even had a visit from Severus Snape to help them.

Year 4 Swimming update - Mrs Riley and Mrs Ferguson have been very impressed by the progress made already in swimming after going just 3 times. The children have become much quicker and more sensible when get changed before and after going in the pool and we have also noticed many children showing improved listening skills when in the water. It has been a pleasure to watch the confidence grow of some of our less experienced swimmers and in Wednesday's lesson, we saw many of the children retrieve a toy off the bottom of the pool - these were children who were afraid to even put their face in the water in our first lesson! Well done to all of Year 4 and especially to those children who have already been chosen as our 'swimmers of the week':

We have continued to make progress with our topic work and used the LearnPads to research different coastal formations.

Please check bags for letters about residentials- the children were all very excited to receive these!

Have a good weekend and see you all next week.
