Sandymere Blog 26.11.22

This week we have started our DT unit of work. Our focus is textiles. We will be making a Christmas decoration and so have looked at different decorations and examined the materials they are made from. Then we practised our cutting skills. The next stage will be practising or in some cases learning for the very first time how to sew with a needle and thread!

We had a brilliant PE session on Friday using tennis balls and tennis rackets. We are becoming more confident and accurate when using this equipment.

Our PSHCE this week has looked at Parliament Week and Anti-bullying week. We talked about our British Values and in particular democracy. We have been reminded that it is not okay for someone to say and do things that hurt our feelings. If this happens to us the we must tell a trusted adult and they will help us.

Maths has been all about 2D and 3D shapes. It would be good to continue practising recognising and naming these at home. 2D shapes - square, circle, rectangle and triangle  3D shapes - cube, cuboid, sphere, pyramid and cone.

Christmas Hampers - please read the email about what we are collecting for our class Christmas Hamper. All donations will be greatfully received and go to create a wonderful raffle prize.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Bettley
