Sandymere Learning Update 3.12.15

Date: 3rd Dec 2015 @ 10:05am

As we move closer to Christmas we kick started the week by making ginger bread playdoh during our Literacy lesson.  The children worked hard on listening to the instructions and made their own playdoh which smelled simply divine with its ginger and cinnamon scent! We then ordered the instructions on Tuesday and wrote the instructions on Wednesday using sequencing words first, next, after that, finally.  The children should be very proud of themselves. Miss Harrison popped in and has asked for the recipe too!  Check out Jayden's instructions on the seperate blog!  Also in Literacy the children have been practising their bossy verbs.  See if they can tell you any home?

In maths we have exploring the value of coins and working with adding money.  This is a good opportunity to get your child involved in counting the contents of their piggy banks at home to practise.

In topic we have looked at fire engines in the modern day and began drawing fire engines in preparation for labelling next week.

There has also been lots of practising of the 'Sing a Christmas Story' songs in preparation for the magical visit to Chester Cathedral on Friday.

That's all for now folks!
