Sandymere’s Class Blog 12.5.24

A really positive week in school but we were all certainly ready for the weekend! All this learning and having fun is a tiring business. 

We have been taking part in drama activities in English this week. The children all made a mask of one of the characters in our story and then we created conversations between the different characters. 

In maths we have been investigating non standard units that are suitable for finding the mass of different objects. We have been learning lots of new vocabulary and eveyone is showing a good understanding. Well done! 

Our art this week made a bit of a mess on the classroom carpet, whoops! There were feathers everywhere as we used our observational skills to draw their patterns and shapes. 

In history, we have started a new unit that is taking us back in time to beyond living memory. We learnt that within living memory means 100 years. Anything more than 100 years ago is beyond living memory. Mrs Bettley was very pleased when the class knew that she was born within living memory! 

We hope you have had a lovely weekend. Mrs Bettley isn't in on Monday but we are welcoming Miss Ollier back. 
Reading books will be changed on Tuesday this week, when Mrs Bettley is back in school.
