Brrr… it’s been a chilly week!
Thank you for sending your child with warm items for playtime – it means we can still enjoy fresh air and outdoor fun despite the cold.
Maths
This week we introduced the + and = symbols, exploring what each means and how they link to the part-whole models we looked at last week. So far, we’ve focused on number bonds to 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. The children have been working hard to understand how these symbols help us build and solve addition sentences.
English
Our adventure with Professor Klunk’s Curious Quests continues! He sent us a photograph of the Great Big Story Dream Machine, and our wonderful writing helps keep it running.
To wake up the machine this week, we were tasked with teaching Noodle and Titich how to write the letters c and a.
Professor Klunk also sent us a new book: Meesha Makes Friends. We’ve been predicting what might happen in the story, using what we already know about being a good friend.
Art
We created beautiful Christmas trees using different patterns and colours for the Winsford Cine Window Display. The children loved experimenting with designs to make their trees unique and festive.
Science
This week we explored the properties of materials. Next week, we’ll carry out an investigation to test which materials are waterproof and which are transparent – exciting experiments ahead!
Reading Reminder
Please remember to read at least 4 times a week at home and log this on Learning with Parents. Reading books will be changed on Monday.
Christmas Hamper Donations
We are still collecting items for our Traditional Christmas Hamper. Thank you so much for the donations already received – they are greatly appreciated!
Have a lovely weekend!
Thank you for your continued support – it makes such a difference to the children’s learning and experiences. We can’t wait for another exciting week ahead!
