Welcome back to the start of a new term. We have had wonderful week and had lots of fun learning together. 

Some of the things we have done this week are: 

• Learnt about capacity and volume. We had great fun using pasta and water to help us with this.
• Planned our own adventure stories and are now ready to write them next week.
• Started a new topic in Science which is all about animals and humans.
• In RE we are exploring new beginnings in Islam. We will be looking at welcoming a new baby and weddings. 
• Our art this half term is about birds. We have started by drawing them and will be moving on to working in 3D. 

Our phonics this week has been all about real and alien words. If you have read this week's head teacher blog, you will see that Mrs Snowdon has mentioned the Y1 Phonics Screening Check.
