Sandymere class were transformed into an orchestra today. Their glockenspiel playing was outstanding and a real treat to listen to. Lots of smiles and proud faces all round.
In maths we have been learning about fractions. Halves proved to be less of a challenge than quarters but everyone tried really hard to find 4 equal parts of shapes and amounts.
We are enjoying Toys in Space in our English sessions. In the story the toys meet an alien called Hoctopize. When they first meet him they see his shadow through a window. So we made the most of the sunny weather and made our own shadow puppets based on the characters in the story. We had lots of fun outside, drawing around the shadows we created using chalk.
In history, we looked at how trains have changed over time. We found out that the first trains were invented beyond living memory and steam was used to make them move. We started to find out about George Stephenson and we will be looking at more details about his life over the next few weeks.
It is the end of year school disco on Thursday. Please make sure you look out for the message about this so you have the correct timings and information about what your child needs to bring with them.
We are having an art morning on Monday and then hoping to have a walk along a Delamere Street on Tuesday as part of our local history and geography work. Fingers crossed for dry weather!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Team Sandymere.
