We hope that you had a good half term break and are settled back into weekly routines. Thank you to all the families that are reading with their child at home and recording this in the online reading log. We really enjoy reading your comments, looking at photos and listening to voice recordings.
This week we have met some new characters that are going to be working with us in our English lessons. Professor Klunk (PK) sent us a magic tin and he uses this to send us messages. He told us that all the work we have been doing in drawing club has been feeding his story dream machine, wow! PK has invited us to join him on his Curious Quests. He has sent Noodle and Titich to keep collecting our inventions and writing. They will give them to their friend Brain who will then teach PK the new skills. We need to watch out though because The Greap really wants our inventions too. As long as we work hard and include the correct code in our writing then The Greap will stay away.
Noodle and Titch are important characters when we are writing. Noodle starts a sentence (a capital letter) and Titich goes at the end (full stop). We must remember to use them in all of our sentences so that we can help PK and his story dream machine.
PK has told us that he has a story for us to read next week and we can't wait.
In maths we have started learning about addition with numbers to 10. We have been looking at part whole models and the addition symbol. So far, we know that + means addition, add, plus.
Our afternoons this week have been focussing on History with the topic of Remembrance. We know when Remembrance Day is, the symbol that is used, who we are remembering and what happens on the day. Remembrance Day is on Monday and we will be thinking about how people in Winsford remember.
PE - kits can remain in school on your child's peg. They must be in school from our lessons every Tuesday and Friday. Thank you.
We hope that you have a lovely weekend,
Team Sandymere.
