It has been a great week in Delamere!
In English we have worked hard on writing both an eye witness account of the city of London after the Great Fire and also our own fact sheets about some key landmarks in London, including The Monument, The Tower of London and St. Paul’s Cathedral.
In Maths we have worked on both doubling and halving numbers and how we can use our 2 x tables to help us. Next week we will spend some time solving word problems using our multiplication and division skills.
We had some fun this week in our PSHE making worry monsters. We read the story ‘Ruby’s Worry’ by tom Percival and used coloured pencils to represent our worry, starting small and getting bigger, just like in the story. We then used googly eyes and added features to make them into our own worry monsters. The children have brought them home and know that their worry monsters like to gobble up worries. We chatted about how when we share our worries they can get smaller and it can help us to feel better.
In RE we explored the Kingdom of God further and thought about what would make a good King or Queen. We then thought about what kind of King God would be here on Earth. Some lovely ideas Delamere!
Our big WELL DONE goes to Oscar for his amazing efforts on Numbots and Matilda, Tyler and Oscar for smashing it on TTRS. 20 raffle tickets to you all!
Nag alert!!! Please make sure that your children are accessing the Maths programmes at home as it is their home learning. We have noticed a big dip in children accessing either game. If you have any problems logging in please do just shout and we can help you. Remember, the TTRS login details is the same as the Numbots.
Big shout out to Daisy and family for all of the boxes that you have sent in! I have put 20 raffle tickets in our pot for you Daisy. Please do start to collect boxes for our Fire Engine models in DT.
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week.
