This week has looked a little different in class due to SATs, but it has been filled with so many positive moments where I have seen the children quietly and confidently let their light shine.
I am incredibly proud of our Year 6 children, who came into school each day ready to give their very best. They showed determination, resilience and a fantastic attitude throughout the week, approaching each test with focus and maturity. Their hard work and commitment has truly been evident, and it has been a privilege to see how far they have come.
I would also like to say a big well done and thank you to our Year 5 children, who have been so supportive and accommodating during this time. They have shown great understanding and kindness, helping to create a calm and positive environment for everyone.
On Friday, I was so pleased to spend such a lovely day with the class celebrating the end of a busy week. We started with a fun game of “Hunt the Hoodie” on the school field—now all of the Year 6 children have their very own leavers’ hoodies! There was lots of excitement, teamwork and laughter as the children took part.
We then walked to the Town Park, where the children explored and sketched the salt crystal statues, linking to our town’s salt history. It was wonderful to see their creativity and curiosity as they carefully observed and captured what they could see. After this, we enjoyed some time playing on the park and simply being together.
Back at school, the afternoon continued with a great game of rounders, where I saw some excellent batting and fielding, along with lots of encouragement between the children. We finished the day with a picnic on the field, a perfect way to relax and reflect after such a busy and successful week.
It has been a week full of hard work, support and togetherness, and I have been so proud of the way the children have approached everything with such positivity.
