🌟 Weekly Class Blog – A Great Week of Learning! 🌟

What a great week we’ve had in class! The children have been enthusiastic, curious, and hardworking across all subjects.

βœ‰οΈ English

This week, we stepped into the shoes of Carl Denham, planning and writing detailed letters back to the production company about everything he has filmed so far. The children really enjoyed getting into character and using vivid descriptions.
We also revisited relative clauses, recapping how to identify them and how to use them effectively in our writing to add extra information.

πŸ”’ Maths

In Maths, we explored how to find missing angles around a point,. We developed this further by then finding lissing angles arounda point using our understanding of vertically opposite angles to help us. We then moved on to exploring the different types of triangles and their properties.
Why not ask your child if they can name a triangle and tell you one of its properties?

🏭 History

Our history focus took us back into the fascinating Winsford salt industry. We examined key dates and plotted these on a timeline to help us understand how the industry has developed over time.

πŸ”¬ Science

Science got very hands‑on this week! We investigated how to separate materials using filtering, sieving, magnets, and evaporation.
We now have 26 cups of brine water lined up along our classroom windowsill, slowly evaporating. We’re eagerly waiting to see which ones leave behind  salt crystals!

πŸ’› PSHCE

In PSHCE, we continued learning about first aid. The children explored different medical conditions, common symptoms, and how we might be able to help someone in need. They were particularly fascinated by the defibrillator, and we discussed where these can be found around Winsford.

🎢 Easter Service Preparations

Rehearsals are in full swing! The children have been working incredibly hard on learning their script lines and song words for our upcoming Easter service.
