Delamere Class Blog
What a fantastic week of learning, creativity and courage we have had in Delamere Class!
In Maths, the children have been developing their understanding of two-digit numbers. They have worked hard to read, recognise and represent numbers in different ways, using practical resources, pictures and numerals. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explain their thinking and demonstrate a deeper understanding of tens and ones. The children have certainly let their lights shine through their perseverance, resilience and willingness to challenge themselves when tackling new concepts.
In History, we have continued learning about some of Britain's most fascinating queens. The children enjoyed revisiting their knowledge of Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Victoria before moving on to learn about Queen Elizabeth II. We discovered that Queen Elizabeth II reigned for an incredible 70 years, making her Britain's longest-reigning monarch. The children then began creating fact files, carefully selecting and recording interesting information about her life and reign. They have let their lights shine through their curiosity, thoughtful questioning and growing ability to select important historical information independently.
We also enjoyed a wonderful Art lesson this week. The children spent time looking closely at leaves and were filled with a real sense of awe and wonder as they examined the different shapes, patterns, textures and colours found in nature. Inspired by what they observed, the children then took on the challenge of creating continuous line drawings, carefully drawing a leaf without lifting their pencil from the page even once! The concentration, creativity and determination they showed was truly impressive, and their unique artwork celebrated the beauty of God's wonderful creation.
Today, the children took part in their flu vaccinations, and we could not be prouder of them. They showed tremendous courage and maturity throughout, supporting one another and facing the experience with such positivity. They really let their lights shine by demonstrating kindness, and respect.
Finally, please keep an eye out for the exciting competition being run by our Junior Safety Officers. We have already received some absolutely fabulous entries, and it has been wonderful to see the creativity and effort that the children have put into their work. We look forward to seeing even more entries over the coming days!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
