Delamere Class Weekly Blog
What a busy and exciting week we have had in Delamere Class! We have packed so much into our learning and have continued to let our light shine through our perseverance, enthusiasm and kindness towards one another. We are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved this week.

Royal SSP 20th Anniversary Relay
On Tuesday, we joined in the celebrations for the Vale Royal SSP 20th Anniversary Schools Relay. We gathered on the playground to welcome the incoming relay team, proudly wearing our birthday hats and waving the fantastic posters and banners we had made. It was wonderful to be part of such a special community event and the children represented our school brilliantly.

English
In English, we have been writing our own versions of The Dragon Machine. The children have loved creating imaginative stories and have worked hard to include exciting vocabulary, descriptive details and interesting ideas. We have been so impressed by their creativity and growing confidence as writers.

Maths
In Maths, we have continued our work on shape. We explored the vertices and edges of 3D shapes, carefully identifying and counting them. We then moved on to sorting 2D shapes using different criteria and creating shape patterns. The children enjoyed explaining their thinking and spotting patterns around them.

Science
Our Science learning focused on light and growth. We set up an experiment to investigate whether grass can survive without light and made predictions about what we think might happen. We also tackled a reasoning question about how light affects growth, using our scientific knowledge to explain our ideas.

Design and Technology
This week marked a very exciting stage in DT as we began to sew our owl puppet pieces together. Learning to sew was challenging at times, but the children showed fantastic resilience and determination. We were incredibly impressed with how they kept trying, even when it felt tricky, and the puppets look amazing.

RE
In RE, we continued our learning about Humanism. The children explored how Humanists think about the world and considered the values that are important to them. We enjoyed some thoughtful discussions and lots of excellent questions.

Looking Ahead
We are also continuing to practise our song for the Leavers' Service. It is already sounding fantastic and we cannot wait to perform it!
