Delamere's Weekly Blog - 19.06.26

What a fantastic week we have had in Delamere. The children have worked incredibly hard, shown great enthusiasm in their learning and taken pride in all that they do.
In English, the children wrote some beautiful setting descriptions and their word choices were amazing! We also began to think about creating our own machines and had all sorts of imaginative ideas, from unicorns to tigers. Great work, Delamere!
In Maths, we have been learning about measure, beginning with centimetres, then metres, and moving on to comparing lengths and heights and solving problems involving measurement. We have been really impressed with the children’s understanding of this and how they are persevering when challenges arise.
In DT, we had lots of fun practising the running stitch on card. Although there were a few tangly moments, we were really proud of how calm, resilient and focused the children were.
In Science, we looked at how we can tell if a plant is healthy or unhealthy. We explored the importance of light and are going to set up an experiment to test what happens to grass if it has no light.
In PE, we practised all the races for Sports Day, showing great teamwork and encouragement towards one another.
Numbots winners this week are Robyn, Leighton and Finlay, and TTRS winners are Finlay, Coby and Archie. Massive congratulations to all of our winners — we love seeing your hard work and effort shining through!
We hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week.
