Delamere's Weekly Blog - 20.03.26
Date: 20th Mar 2026 @ 2:13pm
What a busy week we’ve had in Delamere, full of lots of learning and, of course, lots of swimming! All of the children have made tremendous progress with their swimming and we are so proud of every single one of them.
English
In English, the children have been using The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark to help them practise writing commas in a list. They have produced some lovely sentences and are growing in confidence with their punctuation skills.
Maths
In Maths, we have been exploring arrays and how they can represent repeated addition and multiplication calculations. The children especially enjoyed using stickers to create their own arrays today—it was lots of fun and a brilliant hands-on way to learn!
Science
This week in Science, we investigated materials and their suitability for different objects. We used new vocabulary such as rigid, flexible, stretchy and brittle, and we explored how materials can be changed—can they bend, stretch, squash or twist? It was a great practical lesson with lots of curiosity and discussion.
PE
Our PE stars this week are Grace, Zaylah and Natan for their fabulous progress with hockey skills and brilliant listening. Coach introduced a new end‑of‑session challenge—throwing a tiny ball into a tube for a prize! No one scored this week… maybe next time!
RE
In RE, we listened to the story of how Jesus found his disciples. We role‑played being fishermen and filled a fish with the names of the 12 disciples to help us remember them—ask your child if they can tell you any! We also explored the parable of The Lost Sheep, went on a sheep hunt and made hidden lost lamb pictures. Great work, Delamere!
