This week has been a very special one, as children from Year 2, 3 and 4 came together to form Doakmere Class (Delamere + Oakmere). We have been so impressed with how everyone has settled, worked together and truly let their lights shine—what a brilliant team they have become!

On Wednesday, we spent time thinking about what makes ‘me, me’. The children created beautiful, thoughtful artwork by smash painting globes to form the centre of their pieces. Around these, they added all the important things in their world—people, places, hobbies and memories. The results were incredibly creative and unique, just like each of them.

We also had lots of fun learning new games, including Silent Ball and “Leave it, Tap it, Grab it, Wear it!” In this exciting partner challenge, children lay face to face with a bean bag between them and had to listen carefully and react quickly to instructions. The fastest child won the point—but if they made the wrong move, they were out! It was great fun and really tested their listening and reaction skills.

Later, we shared the story “O is for Ocean”, reflecting on how beautiful our oceans are and why it is important to protect them. Inspired by this, the children decorated their own sea turtles and thought about how we celebrate uniqueness. Just like Elmer, every turtle shell was completely different—bright, bold and full of personality.

On Thursday and Friday, the excitement continued as we began our Superhero Training! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ The children visited the registration desk to collect their superhero ID badges and training cards, before completing a range of exciting activities. They designed their own superhero costumes and gadgets, created comic-style name cards and took part in a special training session with Mr Burgess. Everyone worked incredibly hard and successfully became fully qualified superheroes!

On Friday morning, our new superheroes were put to the test when the Superhero Golden Biscuits were stolen! Using teamwork and problem-solving skills, the children followed clues, cracked codes and finally tracked them down in the school kitchen. Superhero HQ were so impressed that every child was rewarded with a golden biscuit!

To celebrate all of our fantastic learning and teamwork, we enjoyed watching Dogman on Friday afternoon while eating our well-earned treats.

What a super week we have had! A huge well done to all of the children for working together so beautifully and showing such positive attitudes.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to being reunited with the rest of Delamere on Monday. We know the Robinwood crew have had an amazing adventure—and we can’t wait to hear all about it!
