Hatchmere's Class Blog 10.5.24

Date: 10th May 2024 @ 3:56pm

Well, this week has certainly been action-packed!

The children have been writing their letters to Mummy Bear to let her know that her Bear Cub is safe and sound in Hatchmere, but to come and collect him quickly before he finds his way in to our rubbish bin again!

Our mathematicians have been hard at work with numbers up to and including 10. We have had a variety of activities that the children have accessed to support their learning; 1:1 correspondence, a fishing competition, fast 5 and a bit, number line challenge and using 10 frames…phew, that’s a lot of maths! If that wasn’t enough, some children even created their own maths game and it has become very popular. We love exploring number in Hatchmere.

We have had some very special visitors at our school this week. They had heard that Hatchmere is a super s-m-ar-t class and wanted to see for themselves. The children proudly showed off their skills and the whole Hatchmere Team beamed with pride at their attitude to learning. Well done Hatchmere, you are amazing!!

Next week we will have a different dance to focus on as our morning wake up/shake up, but I have to admit, this one has been a favourite and we may have to re-visit it before the end of term: Superman

Nursery Rhyme: The Bear Went Over The Mountain

And lastly, hello sunshine!!! Is that a BBQ I smell???
