Hatchmere's Class Blog 4.10.24

Date: 3rd Oct 2024 @ 4:10pm

Hello Hatchmerians,

We have worked on our scissor skills this week and the children have done very well. They listened to the instructions of: eyes in the sky, crocodile fingers, thumb on top and elbows in. Well done Hatchmere.

In our literacy lessons this week Hatchmere have been reading Leaf Man and thinking about where they would like the wind to blow them. We had lots of fabulous places to visit; Grandads house, the beach, Peppa Pig Land and Disneyland.

In our Maths lessons the children have been working on creating number lines with numicon and finding hidden numbers. We have been using the Stem Sentence of 1 and another 1 makes 2 altogether; 1 and another 1 and another 1 makes 3 altogether. We have been acting out the nursery rhyme ‘5 Little Ducks’ and playing our subitising games. The children always enjoy our number work.

Thank you to all of the children that have brought in an Autumn treasure, please continue to fetch them in! We are always excited to learn about the different aspects of Autumn. We have talked about the falling leaves, harvesting, hibernating and even the clothes we will need as it gets colder and wetter. We will continue to explore Autumn throughout the term.

Hatchmere have enjoyed a Cosmic Yoga Bear Hunt session in the hall today, I have attached the link below so that they can show you their yoga moves at home.

Next Monday will see our 1st group of children have a school library induction. Please see your School Spider messages to find out if your child needs picking up from the library this coming Monday or if they are on the 2nd group the following Monday.
