🌟 Sandymere Weekly Round-Up 🌟

What a fantastic week we have had in Sandymere! 😊 The children have worked incredibly hard and shown great perseverance in their learning. We have loved seeing their confidence grow as they tackle new challenges and continue to let their light shine. ✨

🔢 Maths

In maths this week, we have been comparing and ordering numbers. We have practised putting three numbers in order from the smallest to the greatest and from the greatest to the smallest.

At first, this was quite tricky and required lots of careful thinking, but we kept going and didn't give up! 💪⭐ We are pleased to say that most of us have really cracked it now. Well done, Sandymere! 🎉

🚌 English

Our book this week has been The 100 Decker Bus. The children had great fun designing brand-new decks for the bus and deciding where it should travel next on its adventure.

We were amazed by the children's creativity and imaginative ideas. From exciting destinations to incredible new deck designs, there were lots of fantastic ideas shared. 🌈✨

🔤 Phonics

This week in phonics we have been learning about split vowel digraphs. This is a very tricky part of phonics, but we have been so impressed with the children's first encounter with them. ⭐📚

Everyone has worked really hard and shown excellent listening and learning behaviours. Keep it up, Sandymere! 🌟

✝️ RE

In RE, we learned about the baptism of Jesus. We found out about John the Baptist and explored what happened when Jesus was baptised. We learned how God spoke and how the Holy Spirit appeared in the form of a dove.

🙏 Class Worship

During our class worship, we listened to the story of Jesus Calms the Storm. The children were filled with awe and wonder as they reflected on the miracle. Some of their lovely responses included:

💭 "Jesus just used words to stop the storm."

💭 "Wow! He helped his friends, it was amazing."

We enjoyed thinking about how Jesus cared for and helped others.

💉 Flu Vaccinations

Today, the children received their flu vaccinations and we could not be prouder of them! 🌟

They were incredibly brave, sensible and resilient. 💪😊 The nurses gave the class some wonderful feedback about their behaviour and attitudes, which was lovely to hear. The children really demonstrated our school vision of "Let Your Light Shine" through their courage and positivity. ✨⭐

📌 Key Reminders

📚 Children should read 4 times each week.

📱 Please record reading on Learning with Parents.

🏃 PE lessons are on Tuesday and Wednesday.

👕 It is helpful for children to have their PE kits in school all week.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! 😊☀️ We look forward to another exciting week of learning and fun in Sandymere. 🌟
